Optimistic Squarespace Website for a Social Media Manager

Mae Media is a social media strategy and management team from Omaha, Nebraska, founded by Sammi Anderson. To build a website for her boutique agency, Sammi purchased our Squarespace template Social Motion, and did a fantastic job customizing it.
On her website, Sammi uses a warm color palette (soft creams, warm oranges, gentle neutrals) that reinforces a friendly, approachable feel and matches the social-media-manager personality. She even wears her brand colors and a branded baseball cap in her photos, which adds a layer of visual consistency that ties the entire design together.
The Mae Media website avoids stock imagery entirely. Sammi went outdoors for a photoshoot in natural warm lightning, which helps her visuals look cohesive across the website. Along with her matching outfits, she brought props like butter-yellow tulips and a laptop, giving her plenty of high-quality, lifestyle imagery to work with. Shots of coffee cups, laptop work scenes, and casual outfits enhance relatability and position the brand as social-media-savvy. The intentional use of photos with negative space allows text overlays without compromising readability.
The homepage opens with a warm, welcoming headline (“Welcome to Mae Media”) that immediately introduces the brand’s personality. A vintage-inspired serif headline font paired with a clean sans-serif body font creates a memorable brand contrast that feels both modern and personal. These are the fonts we use in the original template – an excellent reminder that you often don’t need to change much when you start with the right design. A hand-drawn squiggle motif appears throughout (hero, section dividers, mid-page) and adds a playful, human touch – very aligned with the “fun & engaging” tagline.
Alternation of image-heavy and text-heavy sections makes the layout look balanced and prevents monotony. Split hero layouts with two lifestyle photos instantly communicate the vibe of the brand – relaxed, real-life, outdoorsy, and creative. To explain her work, Sammi filled out a clear three-step process on the homepage and reused this layout on her Services page for consistency.
Sammi also blogs regularly to showcase her expertise and keep a steady flow of traffic coming to her website.
