Calming Squarespace Website for a Personal Blog

Angie Mizzell is a former TV journalist with a passion for writing. She has built a career around telling stories. Angie is a memoir writer, mom of three, and on-camera spokesperson. She started her new online blog to share stories about motherhood, writing, and creating a life that feels like home.
Angie’s new website is built with Squarespace. She bought one of our premium Squarespace templates – Boho Social – and customized it to fit her blogging needs.
Angie decided, that she doesn’t really need many pages, four is enough for her (not including the blog posts). She went with Home, About, Blog, Subscribe. We totally agree that less is more, and there is no need for additional pages that do not serve a clear purpose.
Angie successfully used page layouts from our Squarespace template on her Home and About pages.
She changed the colors to a calming blue and white palette with yellow accents. She also added an easy-to-read decorative handwritten font for the headings, the same one she has in her logo.
Our Boho Social template has a tutorial on how to create a collage mixing an image with graphic elements. In our example, we have blurb-like shapes. We always like to check out graphic elements our clients draw for their collages. Angie decorated her photos with a casual crayon scribble and frames.
