Sadiyah’s Kitchen
Sadiyah Ali is a Portland native, 27-year-old Software Engineer, and food blogger. She loves experimenting with traditional recipes, particularly Somali recipes, and readapting them to new and easy-to-follow ones.
Sadiyah launched a website to share recipes that she loves to make and eat in her real, actual, everyday life. To publish Sadiyah’s Kitchen on the Internet she went with Squarespace and our Premium Squarespace Template Boho Social.
Boho Social is a cheerful and lively template for creatives that totally matches Sadiyah’s vibe.
As the main purpose of her website is a food blog, she shifted the website’s focus to it, making the blog prominent on the homepage, while hiding the Service and Work with us pages she doesn’t need at the moment.
The blog page became a home for many delicious traditional East African recipes. It has a search bar at the top of the page and categories (dessert, diner, cakes, breads) for easy navigation.
The main accent of the website is on visuals – high-quality pictures of the mouth-watering dishes. To her blogposts, she also embeds videos and recipe cards with a help of a plugin. The cards make recipes look neat and also make them printable.
Sadiyah has also connected her website to her socials in the header and in the footer. She has a big following on Instagram and a popular account on Tik Tok, both can generate a good traffic flow to the website.
